Ukrainians will no longer be able to enter Belarus according to passports

As of September 1, Ukrainians will not be able to leave Belarus with an internal passport, but can return home.

The government, at a meeting on Wednesday, May 13, partially suspended the agreement with Belarus on visa-free travel.

According to the decision, as of September 1, Ukrainians will not be able to cross the border with Belarus with an internal passport.

At the same time, when entering Ukraine from Belarus, it will be possible according to the Ukrainian passport.

Such a decision “should speed up the passage of checkpoints at the border and reduce the number of cases of falsification of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine.” It should also strengthen national security, the cabinet decision argues.

Recall, due to new restrictions imposed by the Cabinet, since midnight on April 7, Ukrainians can cross the border between Ukraine and Belarus only by train or plane.
