The Constitutional Court’s decision threatens cooperation between Ukraine and the World Bank. As a result, Ukraine could lose $ 2.23 billion.

This was stated in the column by Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko, reports the press service of the Finance Ministry.

He noted that, according to the assessment of the World Bank’s top management, by decision of the KSU, Ukraine defaults on its obligations under the Multi-Sector Development Policy Loan (DPL) program.

“This endangers all the Bank’s projects with Ukraine. Overall, we are talking about $ 2.23 billion,” Markov wrote.

According to the minister, Ukraine is at risk of losing two tranches from the International Monetary Fund of $ 700 million in 2020, as well as $ 700 million under the aid of the EU and 350 million from the World Bank. In 2021, Ukraine may lose another 1.5 billion from the IMF, 700 million from the EU and 350 million from the World Bank.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the IMF mission would not reach Ukraine due to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to cancel the electronic declaration.

It was also reported that the EU called on Ukraine to immediately restore the anti-corruption structure in the country after the CCU’s decision. Fighting corruption is a prerequisite for visa-free travel and macro-financial assistance.

As a reminder, on October 27, the Constitutional Court abolished responsibility for inaccurate declaration, which blocked the course of more than 100 criminal proceedings for this fact. A false declaration case has already been closed.
