Yermak announced the details of the negotiations in Berlin.

The participants of the negotiations in Berlin were only informed about the preparation of the document on elections in the territories temporarily not controlled by Kiev.

The head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak said that the Ukrainian delegation at the meeting of advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four was not obliged to modify the decree on holding local elections in Donbass.

The politician said this on Sunday, September 13, on the air of the Ukrainian television channel.

“There were no obligations on the part of Ukraine to review the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada (on elections – ed.). And this is impossible, because we cannot interfere in the activities of the Ukrainian parliament,” Yermak said.

At the same time, he stressed that meeting participants were only informed that such a resolution exists.

“We only informed our colleagues at the Normandy meeting that <...> this resolution exists and in the near future it will be delivered to the Verkhovna Rada hall, where its fate will be decided, ”concluded the OP’s head.

As reported, in Ukraine on September 5, the electoral process for holding local elections, which are scheduled for October 25, officially began.

However, the CEC concluded that it was impossible to hold elections in the Donbass territory controlled by Kiev.
