A strict blanket quarantine is now unlikely, but a weekend travel ban could be introduced.

In Ukraine, the possibility of introducing a weekend quarantine is being considered. This was announced on the air 1 + 1 by the head of the parliamentary commission on the health of the nation and the people’s deputy of the Servant of the People faction Mikhail Radutsky.

He noted that the authorities understand that they cannot reintroduce strict quarantine.

“But we can introduce a weekend quarantine. When a family stays with their family for a day off, they don’t go anywhere: not to restaurants, not to concerts in Kharkiv or anywhere else. This can be borne, this is not closing companies, this is not stopping, “he said.

Radutsky also noted that the World Health Organization has changed the criteria for quarantine zoning. Therefore, on Saturday, in a meeting with the president, the introduction of modern criteria will be discussed.

“My second proposal (supported by the NSDC, I hope the president supports it) is the one made by Shevchenko University. It sent me to study at a distance,” Radutsky added, adding that, in his opinion, schools and universities should be sent to remote control. …

Earlier, Chief Medical Officer Viktor Lyashko said Ukraine will have to return to strict quarantine when hospital beds run out.

And the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, said that temporary hospitals are being prepared in Ukraine for COVID-19 patients.
