The country’s authorities admit the possibility of a domestic vaccine emerging in a few years.

The head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Maxim Stepanov, said that the country’s authorities intend to restore the domestic production of vaccines. This was stated in an interview with Radio Liberty, published on Sunday, August 30.

According to him, in the 1990s, the production of any vaccine was completely destroyed in Ukraine, but only now are the authorities thinking of resuming it.

“Now we have repeatedly spoken with the president of the country (Volodymyr Zelenskyy – ed.) So that we begin to restore vaccine production. This applies to influenza, this applies to other vaccines that we use annually,” said the minister and highlighted that this will take several years. …

Stepanov also reported on meetings held with the management of pharmaceutical companies.

“Our companies Pharmac, Likhiwho have the corresponding certified vaccine production lines can produce a Ukrainian vaccine, if it appears, or another, “he added.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that several Ukrainian laboratories are ready to mass-produce a vaccine against the coronavirus, which, he said, will cover both domestic needs and those of other countries.
