The EU recognized Ukraine’s compliance with all its conditions
You must first wait for the International Monetary Fund’s decision on a new loan to the Kiev official.
Ukraine will receive a 500 million euro loan from the European Union after signing a new loan agreement between official Kiev and the International Monetary Fund. On Thursday May 14, said the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Vargei.
“As soon as the IMF provides its final evaluation and approves further cooperation with Ukraine, the EU will be ready to allocate a second tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of € 500 million without delay,” he said.
At the same time, the European Commissioner stressed that the Ukrainian authorities had fulfilled all the conditions for the allocation of a new EU loan. He applauded the approval by the Verkhovna Rada of a law prohibiting the return of nationalized banks to former owners by court order.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that the Ukrainian government wants to receive $ 10 billion in Western loans this year. According to him, this is money from various international financial organizations: the IMF, the European structures, the EU and the partner countries as a whole.
