UK ready to leave the EU without a deal
The current UK government will take a firm stand in negotiations with Brussels on the post-Brexit relationship with the EU. Unlike the government of Theresa May, there will be no concessions.
The main negotiator for the British side, David Frost, told The Daily Mail.
“We entered the negotiations after previous governments and negotiating teams gave in and faked at critical moments, and the EU is used to not taking our words seriously,” he said.
As Frost pointed out, Britain does not intend to become an EU dependent state. “We are not going to compromise control of our own laws,” he added.
He recalled that the British people voted in a referendum to make Great Britain an independent country. “And it will happen at the end of the year, whatever happens,” Frost said.
To demonstrate the government’s willingness to accept an unconditional exit from the EU, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has established Transition Center # 10, in which key government officials are said to be working at an accelerated pace to prepare for a trade without agreement with the EU.
Recall that the UK will finally leave the European Union on January 1, 2021. During the transition period from January 31 to the end of 2020, the EU and the UK are trying to agree on the terms of bilateral relations after Brexit .
According to the Opinium poll, half of UK residents (49%) are confident that Russia intervened in the Brexit referendum in 2016.
