In Kiev, the footballer spent 5 seasons and about a hundred games. It could have been longer and longer, but the injuries that plagued Slobodyan for most of his career prevented it. Due to this performance in great football, he ended up in his prime: at the age of 27. He made 2 matches for the USSR national team.
After completing his football career, Petr Slobodyan began working as a professor in the Department of Physical Education at Shevchenko University. He became the head of the department. At the same time, he played for the Kiev veteran team “Dynamo”, which he even coached for some time.
He left his post at the university in 1998 and in 2001 he directed the Kiev “Obolon”, which he immediately took to the top flight. Slobodyan worked on the “Brewers” training bridge twice: the first time he coached the team from 2001 to 2004, the second time from 2006 to 2008. After completing his job at Obolon, he decided to pay more attention to his family and go back to teaching.
In 2020, Petr Slobodyan was awarded the Order of Merit, grade II by decree of the President of Ukraine.
