The highest workload is observed in the Zhytomyr, Poltava and Lugansk regions, while there is not a single region where less than half of the positions would be occupied.
In Ukraine, 65% of hospital beds for coronavirus patients are occupied. This is evidenced by data from the Ministry of Health on Wednesday, October 28.
More than 70% of the beds are occupied in hospitals in Zhytomyr (91.8%), Lugansk (79.5%), Odessa (77.6%), Poltava (78%), Donetsk (71.8%), Rivne (71.9%) and Kirovograd (71%) regions. In Kiev, beds are 67.8% occupied. At the same time, there is not a single region where these beds are occupied by less than 50%. In total, 39,114 beds for coronavirus patients have already been introduced in the country.
Furthermore, the incidence rate was exceeded in all regions. On average in Ukraine, this figure is 228.2 people per 100 thousand of the population, while the norm is 40. The worst situation is observed in the Chernivtsi region – 409.1. In Kiev, the figure is 234.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, says that the department will redesign two or four multidisciplinary hospitals in each region.
“We will re-profile 2-4 multidisciplinary hospitals in each region. This will allow us to provide medical care to COVID-19 patients who have other illnesses. For example, people who need one operation or another and at the same time have COVID-19. Usually, they need to be treated in those hospitals, “Stepanov said.
Remember that there are almost 7.5 thousand new cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine. During the day 165 people died. The greatest increase in incidence is observed in the Kharkov and Odessa regions, as well as in Kiev.
