On May 11, the Executive Committee Table of the Association “Belarusian Football Federation” decided to postpone several games of the national championships due to the suspicion of coronavirus among the players of the Arsenal and Minsk clubs.
This was reported on the association’s website.
Therefore, the date of the ninth round match of “Belarusbank – Premier League” of the 2020 season with the participation of the soccer clubs “Minsk” and “Neman” (Grodno) was changed. The meeting was supposed to take place at the Tractor stadium in Minsk on May 15 at 18:00. It was postponed to a later date.
The game of the fifth round of “Maxline – first league” of the 2020 season with the participation of the teams “Arsenal” (Dzerzhinsk) – GOBZHD was also postponed. The fight was supposed to take place at the RCOR-BSU stadium in Minsk on May 16 at 2:00 p.m. It is also carried out.
The association noted that they are taking all recommended measures to combat the spread of the virus in national competition matches. In stadiums, additional points are installed with an antiseptic, at the entrances for spectators to measure body temperature, in the stands people sit in a checkerboard pattern.
In most European football championships, the season is temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, the Belarusian championship attracts a lot of attention. For example, the Spanish newspaper Marca dedicated the cover to the national championship.
