Trukhanov wins the election of the mayor of Odessa

In the second round of the elections for the mayor of Odessa, incumbent mayor Gennady Trukhanov won 55.1% of the votes, the people’s deputy from the opposition platform – For Life Nikolai Skorik – 42.8%. Proof of this are the preliminary data from the exit poll of the International Institute of Sociology in Kiev.

In the second round of the elections for the mayor of Odessa, the current mayor Gennady Trukhanov (“Trust Deeds” party) wins. This is demonstrated by data from the exit poll of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology at 5 pm, published on the KIIS website.

The popular deputy of the “Opposition Platform – For Life” Nikolai Skorik, who along with Trukhanov entered the second round, according to KIIS, received the support of 42.8% of voters.

Voting in the second round of local elections is taking place today in seven cities in Ukraine. Trukhanov won 34.54% of the vote in the first round, Skorik – 19.06%.

On October 25, local elections were held throughout Ukraine, with the exception of annexed Crimea and the occupied areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The citizens of Ukraine elected city, village and municipal heads, as well as deputies from regional, district, city, village and village councils. The elections were held for the first time in accordance with the new Electoral Code, according to the proportional system with open lists. According to the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, the turnout was 36.88%.
