Local elections in Ukraine have definitely come to an end. Mayors were elected in the last 11 cities. The victory was again obtained mainly by the current mayors.

Correspondent.net summarizes the voting results.

No sensations

On November 22, the residents of Berdyansk, Dnipro, Drohobych, Lvov, Nikolaev, Nikopol, Poltava, Rovno, Slavyansk, Uzhgorod and Cherkasy arrived at the polling stations.

Of all these cities, only Rovno, Berdyansk and Nikopol did not participate in the elections. And where they accepted, they won with confidence.

In Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi won 61.5%, while his competitor Oleg Sinyutka from the European Solidarity Party 36.1%, according to the results of digitizing 98% of the protocols with wet stamps. Sinyutka already congratulated Sadovy on his victory. Sadovy has led the city since 2006. In 2018, he vowed never to run for mayor again, but failed to keep his promise and ran for a fourth term.

In Dnipro, current mayor Boris Filatov of the Propositive party wins the elections by a significant margin. He got 78.75%, while his rival Zagid Krasnov got 18.25% (according to the SOCIS exit poll).

In Cherkassy, Mayor Anatoly Bondarenko, who was in conflict with the president, managed to win 54.25% and surpass Golos party candidate Viktor Yevpak. Furthermore, Eupacus was supported by both the People’s Servant and European Solidarity, but this did not help him win.

In Nikolaev, the mayor will also retain his post. According to a NikVesti poll, the city’s mayor, Alexander Senkevich (Proposition), got 61.6% and surpassed HLE’s Vladislav Chaika (38.4%).

In Poltava, the gap between the candidates is small, but the possible winner was the mayor of the city, Alexander Mamai.

In Uzhgorod, the current mayor Bogdan Andriiv won, ran as a self-appointed candidate, and beat the candidate of the People’s Servant Viktor Schadei. According to Opora, which published the results of the local TEC vote, Andriiv received 12,869 votes (51.1%) and Shchadey – 11,452 (45.5%).

No servants

The ruling party, Servant of the People, was never able to lead its people to the mayors of the big cities. In Poltava and Uzhgorod, the CH candidates lost to the current mayors.

Another candidate of the People’s Servant, Ruslan Oleinik, lost in the second round of the mayoral elections in Nikopoe, Dnipropetrovsk region, to a candidate from the For Maybutn party.

According to the observation network Opora, during the November 22 vote, there were no serious abuses by members of electoral commissions or illegal attempts to interfere in the electoral process.

In addition, the district electoral commissions “generally ensured adequate conditions for the maximum realization of citizens’ electoral rights in difficult epidemic conditions,” say observers.

More troublesome

In Dnipro, almost half of all violations of the electoral process in the country were recorded.

Most of the violations were related to the photograph on the ballot: the police documented 177 such incidents.

For example, in Slavyansk, Donetsk region, voters entered the raffle for the iPhone 12, which was announced by the NGO Teplitsa Platform Initiatives.

On the eve of the second round, this public organization published a contest announcement on the social networks Facebook and Instagram. According to the rules, voters must vote at the polling station and take a selfie near the polls, but without a ballot.

Selfies had to be posted on their social media pages with a specific hashtag. The iPhone 12 prize drawing is scheduled for Monday, November 23.
