Police on patrol in Kiev urged to choose alternative routes due to traffic restrictions on the Shuliavsky Bridge.
In Kiev, on the Shuliavsky Bridge on December 15, the supports of the power line fell. Traffic in the direction of Dorogozhychi metro station is limited. This was reported by the press service of the Kiev patrol police on Telegram.
“Choose other routes of movement around the city to avoid inconveniences,” says the message.
According to the Kiev operating public, traffic across the bridge is blocked in four directions.
“A real traffic collapse in Shulyavka. Three columns of lighting fell on the renovated overpass at the same time,” notes the public.
On February 27, 2017, part of the Shuliavsky flyover collapsed in Kiev. According to the Kievavtodor, the causes of the bridge collapse were the effects of fire and corrosion of the concrete.
On May 19, the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Kiev City State Administration chose a project for the reconstruction of the Shulyavsky flyover, the developer of which is “Kievdormostproekt”. The cost of the project is estimated at 400 million UAH.
According to the mayor of Kiev, Vitaly Klitschko, to implement the project, it is necessary to demolish part of the building of the Bolshevik plant. He added that the crossing was built in the 60s of the last century and that the Shulyavsky flyover needed reconstruction for a long time.
Preparations for the reconstruction of the Shuliavsky flyover began on May 1, the work was planned to take approximately 17 months.
The Kiev mayor’s office wanted to buy the workshop to demolish it later, but the Ukrainian State Property Fund estimated the cost of the workshop at 700 million UAH.
On July 18, asphalting and engineering network laying work began on the Shuliavsky Bridge.
