According to official data, during the Ilovaisk operation and the subsequent execution in the so-called green corridor, 366 Ukrainian soldiers died, 429 were injured of varying severity and 300 were taken prisoner.

On the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine, the State Flag of Ukraine was lowered on the buildings of government bodies, state enterprises, institutions and organizations.

On August 29, at 10:00 a.m., a nationwide minute of silence will be announced in memory of the defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. For a minute of silence, work will stop in local governments, companies, institutions and organizations (except those where a continuous mode of operation is established), the movement of public and private transport with the appropriate sound signals.

In addition, as a token of memory of Ukraine’s defenders, on August 29 at 10:00 am, radio and television broadcasts will be interrupted. On the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine, the broadcast of entertainment radio and television programs will be limited.
