In Kiev, it is necessary to expel minibuses from the transport market, which are long outdated and do not meet the requirements of modern and comfortable transport, said the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko.
Kiev received 50 new buses manufactured by the Belarusian MAZ plant, another 150 will arrive by the end of the year. Public transport bought on lease has already entered the city today, said Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko, writes the politician’s website.
“I want to emphasize that even at this difficult time, when there is a fight against a pandemic, an economic crisis, a war in eastern Ukraine, the capital has been able to buy in recent years 139 new trolleybuses, 65 modern trams and a total of 307 new buses. 200 of them – in leaseable condition, we’ll get it by the end of this year. And today I am very pleased to present to you the first batch of two hundred and 50 new buses produced by the MAZ plant in Belarus. By the end of the year, another 150 vehicles of this type will arrive, “he said.
Today, a significant number of Kievpastrans rolling stock are buses, the service life of which has exceeded 10 years. The new buses have a low floor, ramps and seats for people with disabilities, are equipped with video surveillance, navigation and air conditioning systems, and also comply with the Euro-5 environmental standard.
“Getting a new high-capacity transport is also important in a pandemic situation, when public transport must carry passengers only by the number of seats. All new buses will be transferred to the fleet of the utility company Kyivpastrans to operate in the busiest routes. ” we move around the city comfortably, and we create the conditions for motorists to switch to public transport as far as possible. This will help clear the jam problem. And also to displace minibuses from the transport market, which are long outdated and do not meet the requirements of modern and comfortable transport, “he emphasized. Vitaliy Klichko.
