Former Belarusian presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya stated that she cannot forgive Lukashenka for her crimes, but her immunity may become a solution to the problem.
The former presidential candidate in Belarus, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, proposed granting Alyaksandr Lukashenka immunity from court in the event of a change of power in the country. Tikhanovskaya said this during his visit to Bratislava, Reuters reported on Thursday, October 8.
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya noted that she cannot forgive Lukashenka for her crimes, but realizes that her immunity should be part of the negotiations on the transfer of power. “If the solution (to the problem – ed.) Is that you will go somewhere in the sea and spend time there, then this is allowed,” Tikhanovskaya said.
In Bratislava, the former candidate for the presidency of Belarus met with the Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korchk, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations, political scientists and journalists. Slovakia decided to call its Belarusian ambassador for consultations. Previously, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Bulgaria did the same.
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya also visited Germany this week, where she met Angela Merkel, spoke in the Bundestag and held a press conference.
It was previously reported that EU countries were summoning ambassadors from Belarus for consultations.
