Tikhanovskaya announced partisan protests

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya announced a new form of protests

The opponent believes that the previously announced national strike has fulfilled its function.

The head of the opposition in Belarus, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, said that the fight against the Lukashenka regime continues, however it may change to a partisan form. She told about this on Friday, November 13, in an interview with the Polish agency PAP.

“The fight will continue,” said the opponent, who has been in Lithuania for three months. However, in his opinion, the fight may take a different form.

“I think people will decide to switch to the partisan way, since the authorities know no borders in the use of force,” Tikhanovskaya said.

After more than 1,000 protesters were arrested in Belarus on Sunday, November 8, “a strategy and tactics for further action” are being developed.

At the same time, Tikhanovskaya said that the national strike, which he announced a few weeks ago, when Lukashenka failed to comply with the conditions of the people’s ultimatum to end violence and free political prisoners, had served its purpose.

“We needed an incentive because people were already tired. People responded well. You can always wish for more, but we are grateful to everyone who decided to demonstrate their civic attitude,” he said.

Tikhanovskaya is sure: “It is obvious that the regime is close to paralysis.”

“The authorities are not fulfilling their main functions, they are only fighting the protesters,” he said, noting that in many power structures they are changing “to the good side”, but these processes take time.

Let us remind you that a Minsk resident who was beaten in “Peremen Square” died the day before. The Minsk resident, transferred to the hospital from the Central District Department of Internal Affairs, died without regaining consciousness. He was diagnosed with a severe traumatic brain injury.
