Three doctors from the Kiev National Cancer Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine received suspicions in connection with the death of the patient. The woman died after being injected by an anesthesiologist, but her colleagues helped to hide this fact. This was reported on the website of the Attorney General.
According to the investigation, the anesthesiologist from the National Cancer Institute, before the start of the surgery, without preoperative preparation of the patient, injected into her body drugs incompatible with simultaneous administration. These actions caused a sharp deterioration in the health and further death of the woman. the concealment of the consequences of improper performance of professional tasks by an anesthesiologist, two other medical workers: the patient’s treating physician and a pathologist, after the autopsy results, they entered inaccurate information about the cause of death of the woman in the medical documentation “, reads the message.
It is clarified that the anesthesiologist was informed about the suspicion of inadequate performance of his professional functions, which implied serious consequences for the patient (part 1 of article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the treating physician and pathologist, in the preparation of knowingly forged official documents for prior conspiracy. by a group of people (part 3 of article 358 of the Penal Code). The question of the choice of suspects is now being decided as a measure of restraint and removal from office.
The anesthesiologist faces up to 5 years in prison and his colleagues face a large fine or arrest for six months or restriction of liberty for up to two years.
