In Kiev’s Pechersky district, thieves ransacked the apartment of the general producer of the Novosti media holding, which includes Ukraine’s ZIK, NewsOne and 112 banned channels, Alexei Semenov.
As OBOZREVATEL learned from his own sources, it happened on the night of February 6 in an elite residential complex on Lesi Ukrainka Boulevard. The thieves entered the producer’s apartment picking up a key between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
According to the source, they took from the apartment 120 thousand dollars (equivalent – 3 million 346 thousand hryvnia) and jewelry for 5 million hryvnia.
Note that on January 28, in the statement of the Ukrainian television channel 112 on the decision of the National Council of Broadcasting and Television, it was said that the general media producer Novosti holding Alexey Semenov contracted coronavirus and was unable to participate in the regulator’s meeting.
Later, the television channel announced a warning and a fine for “broadcasting on the air of the television channel statements that contain calls to unleash war or its propaganda and / or incitement to hatred and national, racial or religious enmity.”
Alexey Semenov is a Russian media producer who has been living and working in Ukraine for the past few years. After Taras Kozak acquired the television channels 112 Ukraine and NewsOne in the interest of Viktor Medvedchuk in 2018, Semyonov became the general producer means with “Novosti”.
In 2019, the television channel ZIK joined the holding company. Then in a closed-door meeting with employees. Alexey Semenov called himself “a meeting between the owner and the employees” and promised not to introduce censorship.

On the night of February 2-3, Ukrainian providers began shutting down the NewsOne, ZIK and 112 Ukraine TV channels. Sanctions against these television channels also received support from the EU and the United States.
