The Servant of the People faction plans to consider the capital’s law before local elections. This law establishes a clear separation of powers between the mayor of Kiev and the head of the state administration of the city of Kiev.
This was stated at a briefing in Kiev by the deputy head of the Servants of the People faction, Alexander Kornienko.
According to the Popular Deputy, now the consideration of this bill is scheduled for the fourth session of the Rada, but the faction wants to consider it as soon as possible.
“Now we are working with colleagues from other factions, with the leadership of the factions, so that we can try to start considering it before the elections and present to the people of Kiev, in the end, the management system of the city. The law of Kiev is about managing the city, “he said.
Recall that the bill on the capital was approved by parliament in the first reading in October 2019, then it was supported by 244 parliamentarians.
The parliament also explained what powers the mayor of Kiev will have after the approval of the bill on the capital.
In addition, the Servant of the People assured that all comments on the capital’s bill had been taken into account.
