Russian state security agents tried to re-poison opposition politician Alexei Navalny before he left for Germany.

According to the British edition of the Times, citing Western intelligence sources, after the first failed attempt, they wanted to kill Navalny with a second dose of poison before they could take him to safety in Berlin.

The material describes in detail a possible version of the poisoning of the opponent. Intelligence agents allegedly broke into Navalny’s hotel room in Tomsk and left a Novichok chemical agent in his underwear or clothing, such as a belt.

The politician managed to survive thanks to the decision of the pilot of the plane that made an emergency landing in Omsk, as well as the actions of the ambulance team, which injected him with atropine.

The Russian special services officers reportedly arrived at the Omsk hospital, where Navalny was hospitalized, and established a base in the chief physician’s office.

“German intelligence sources told their British colleagues that the attackers launched another attack while Navalny lay in an artificial coma before being sent to Germany for medrese,” the newspaper said.

Recall that the other day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Navalny almost died, that does not mean that a criminal case should be opened.
