After social media criticized the appearance of the Alenka monument inaugurated in Russian Novovoronezh, the authorities decided to dismantle the sculpture and send it to a warehouse.
In Novovoronezh, the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation, three days after the inauguration, they decided to demolish the monument to Alenka, the founder of the village of Novaya Alenovka, which was on the site of Novovoronezh. On December 21, the RIA Novosti agency was informed about this by the deputy head of the Novovoronezh administration, Svetlana Tulinova.
According to her, the sculpture will be cut today. Tulinova emphasized that Alenka is an art object for which no money was spent from the city budget. The total cost of the project, according to the official, is about 1 million rubles. (about 380 thousand UAH).
The agency notes that the Alenka monument, unveiled on December 18, “shocked” first Novovoronezh residents and then all of Russia.
In the social network VKontakte on the page of the Novovoronezh administration, the Russians called the monument “mischief” and “epic garbage”. The officials responded that “information about the appearance of negative reviews about” Alenka “was brought to the attention of the initiators of the project.”
