During the meeting of the Odessa Regional Council in the session room, a fight broke out between the deputies of the “Opposition Platform – For Life”, “Sharia Party”, “For the Future” on the one hand and the rest of factions on the other.
The reason was the conflict over the refusal to register 10 newly elected deputies from the Opposition Platform – For life and for the future. In protest, these factions, along with the Sharia Party, blocked the rostrum.
OPZZH, “For the Future” and “Sharia Party” accused the governor Sergei Grinevetsky, “servants of the people”, the party of the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov “Trust the facts” and the party of former president Petro Poroshenko “European Solidarity” in an attempt to usurp power and prevent the majority opposition from forming in the regional council.
“The political disposition in the council is clear. Of the 84 MPs, 24 are for the HLE, 16 for the servants, 11 for the Trust deeds, 10 for the EU, 7 for the Batkivshchyna, 6 for the Sharia Party. But until the deputies of OPSZ and For the Future are registered, they cannot form a coalition or even with Batkivshchyna. Meanwhile, the “Oppoplatform” accused the “Servant of the people” of sabotaging the start of the work of the new deputies in the regional council and destabilizing the situation in the region.
The OPLJ claims that the delay in the registration of deputies is in the interest of the newly appointed head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Sergei Grinevetsky, “who, following Zelensky’s instructions, is called upon to form an unnatural coalition in any way” .
“For this task, the authorities made an exception to the purge law, which Grinevetsky himself falls into. Unable to deprive the regional council of powers by joining it as a minority, the” Servants “are trying to agree with “Eurosolidarity” and registration to the deputies of the party “For the future”, – said in a party statement.
OPSL declares that it will not allow Servant of the People, European Solidarity and Trust Deeds “to care about the residents of the region and their interests.”
