Putin reassured residents of the annexed peninsula

The Russian president assured that the peninsula has sufficient reserves of fresh water. At the same time, the authorities will not save on the water supply in Crimea.

The President of the Russian Federation, during his press conference on Thursday, December 17, commented on the water situation in Crimea. According to the head of the Kremlin, there are sufficient reserves of fresh water on the peninsula.

“Apparently, there are enough good freshwater reserves in Crimea, only this was not done in Soviet times, and even more so during the time Crimea was part of Ukraine,” Putin said.

The Russian president also added that the problem of water supply in the region will be solved. According to him, “these works are being carried out extensively in the region.”

“The state will not save on this,” Putin said.

Previously, Korrespondent.net wrote that near Sevastopol they started pumping water from the resort’s reservoirs. Thanks to the lake on Mount Gasforta, Sevastopol already saves about 10 thousand cubic meters of water per day from the Chernorechensky reservoir.

It was also reported that they were going to draw water from waterfalls in Crimea. Yalta residents have a water supply limited to six hours a day. They intend to correct the situation with the help of waterfalls and Lake Mogabi.
