Hans Kluge predicts the pandemic will last another year

It is difficult for the WHO leadership to predict the development of the coronavirus situation, as it is very unpredictable.

The World Health Organization is trying to be cautious in its forecasts about the development of the situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, but believes that the world is in the middle of the road. This was stated by the Director of the WHO European Office, Hans Kluge, in an interview with Novoye Vremya, published on Friday, December 25.

“There is a general knowledge that these viruses have been developing for about two years, so we are still halfway there,” he explained.

Kluge added that it is difficult for the WHO to predict the development of the coronavirus situation, as it is very unpredictable.

“As soon as prevention measures, lockdown and efforts to control the virus are actively implemented, the virus will decrease. It is worth relaxing, and again we see a rapid increase in the number of patients,” said the Director of the European Office of the WHO.

Recall that in the last 24 hours in Ukraine more than 11 thousand cases of coronavirus have been confirmed. More people have recovered from the disease: more than 15,000 recoveries were recorded yesterday. 186 people died in one day.
