Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov wrote about this on Facebook.
With notice “officially” published the statistics of the disease in the city, noting that Dnipro is one of the three Ukrainian cities with the lowest incidence of coronavirus.
After that, Filatov wrote “Not official” part of his post, in which he pointed out that he did not introduce the weekend quarantine in his city, which means that entrepreneurs can work on Saturday and Sunday.
“Unofficially. Dear businessmen, as the Prime Minister said today: “Mayors cannot cancel what they do not introduce.” And I’m not going to cancel anything. I don’t go to rallies, I don’t wave flags, I don’t make statements. I prefer to work. … Also, I didn’t present this nonsense. Which, by the way, is not found in any country in the world, ”wrote Filatov.
“Alone the municipal commission of TEB and emergency situations fell ill. No, not coronavirus. She is ill and does not have a quorum. They are tired. And they are not able to implement the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, “hinted the head of Dnipro on the nullity of the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the city on the introduction of a weekend quarantine in the city.
The mayor of the city advised businessmen to adhere to the mask and social distancing regime:
“Dear Entrepreneurs, have a nice weekend. I hope we got on well after you called me in Zuma. And notice the mask mode and social distance. For themselves and for their clients. You are responsible citizens of a free country ”, concluded Filatov.
A legal clarification on liability for the weekend quarantine violation was posted on the website of the TEB and emergency situations commission of the city of Dnipro.
As reported, 11 cities have already opposed the introduction of the weekend quarantine: Zhitomir, Kramatorsk, Lviv, Lutsk, Nikolaev, Mukachevo, Rovno, Slavyansk, Cherkassy and Ternopil. The Lviv and Lutsk municipalities also plan to demand the Cabinet’s decision.
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk promised to help companies with fines for violating the weekend’s quarantine.
The petition to end the weekend quarantine has received 25,000 signatures in three days.
On Wednesday, November 11, the Cabinet of Ministers voted to introduce the weekend quarantine in Ukraine. It will start operating this weekend from November 14 to 15 until the end of the month.
Weekend quarantine in Ukraine: what you need to know

Prohibited:
- the realization of massive cultural, religious and concert events with the participation of more than 20 people;
- reception of visitors by catering establishments, but with the possibility of take away work;
- operation of shopping centers and other entertainment establishments;
- gym and pool work;
- the work of cultural institutions, with the exception of commercial entities that are dedicated to film production;
- work of commercial entities and consumer services.
Permitted:
- the work of grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations (without food zones), veterinary pharmacies;
- the work of commercial companies, 60% of the surface of which is occupied by grocery stores;
- provision of financial services, activities of financial institutions, collection and transportation of monetary values;
- the work of postal operators;
- vehicle repair and maintenance activities;
- activities for the maintenance of registrars, liquidation operations, activities for the repair of computers, household items, personal items.
