The Ukrainian president’s office in Crimea explained why the occupied peninsula was facing a water crisis. The reason for this, in particular, is the replacement of the population on the peninsula.
Tamila Tasheva, Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, according to the article “Water crisis, repression and COVID: what is happening in occupied Crimea.”
According to her, cause of the water crisis It is the replacement of the population in the peninsula, in particular, due to the import of additional population, as well as military bases that consume large amounts of water.
The presidential office insists that the resumption of water supply is not possible until the peninsula is vacated. The responsibility of the current civilian population rests with the occupying state.
“She (Russia – ed.) Was six and a half years old for these troublesome issues,” he said.
We will recall, the Kremlin said that Ukraine itself ruled out negotiations with the Russian Federation on supplying water to occupied Crimea.
Note that a high alert mode was introduced in Sevastopol due to lack of water.
