Ukrainian people’s deputies voted in favor of the bill, which provides for the creation of a single portal for whistleblower complaints and ensures a guarantee of legal protection.

On February 4, the Verkhovna Rada approved Bill No. 3450 on the rationalization of certain issues relating to the protection of whistleblowers in criminal acts. The correspondent of the “GORDON” edition reports on this.

253 popular deputies voted for the document.

Parliamentarians considered several dozen versions of amendments in the session hall, only confirming some of them.

“The bill was drawn up with the aim of organizing a single portal for whistleblowers and ensuring the guarantee of legal protection for whistleblowers exclusively through lawyers from the free legal aid system,” says the explanatory note.

Changes related to the approval of the draft law should be introduced in the Law on “Prevention of Corruption”, the Code of Civil Procedure of Ukraine and the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine.

At first reading, the bill was adopted on November 5, 2020.
