Installation of the artist Juliana Notary

The author of a huge art object called Diva was artist Juliana Notari. It took around 11 months to build.

Brazilian artist Juliana Notari presented a vagina-shaped installation called Diva. The giant sculpture appeared in the Pernambuco State Art Park, writes The Guardian.

More than 20 people worked on creating the object for 11 months. The completed reinforced concrete installation was 33 meters long, 16 meters wide and six meters deep.

As the notary explained, use Divas raises the question of “the relationship between nature and culture in our western phallocentric and anthropocentric society.”

“At present, these questions are more and more urgent”, emphasized the artist.

According to the media, in this way Notari alludes to the policy of intolerance of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has repeatedly criticized the artists.

Many Facebook users, including a large part of the supporters of the current head of state, negatively perceived the artist’s work.
