Later he visited the Psagon winery.
“I enjoyed lunch at the picturesque Psagot winery. Unfortunately, this and other businesses have been the target of disastrous labeling efforts in the EU boycotting Israeli companies. The United States supports Israel and will not tolerate any form of delegitimization,” he said.

Pompeo said the visit showed that the threat to Israel’s security from Iran and “its henchmen” persists and cannot be ignored.

In 1967, as a result of the Six Day War with Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Algeria, Israel defeated the superior forces of the Arab states and expanded its territory. In particular, the Golan Heights were captured from Syria. Later, its eastern part was returned under the control of Damascus. In December 1981, the Knesset passed a resolution that extended Israeli jurisdiction to the captured part of the heights.
The UN did not recognize the Israeli occupation of the Golan Heights. Every year the General Assembly passed a resolution condemning him. In 2018, the United States voted against the UN General Assembly resolution for the first time (previously, the American delegation abstained).
On March 21, 2019, Trump called on the world to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights. On March 22, the Arab League, Syria, Turkey, Iran and the Russian Federation condemned the US President’s initiative. On March 25, Trump signed a proclamation recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the annexed part of the Golan Heights.
