The diplomatic service noted a joint statement by Russian and American leaders on the anniversary of the 1945 meeting of Soviet and American soldiers on the Elbe, as well as a video message to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe, the American ambassador to Russia John Sullivan, who said that the Americans are proud, supported the peoples of the USSR in the fight against Nazi Germany.
