“It is with indescribable sadness that we report the death of an American woman from the community of the US Embassy in Ukraine. Now officials from the US embassy in Kiev are working with authorities to establish the circumstances of the death, “the statement said.
On the eve of the Kiev police reported that a US embassy employee died in hospital after she was found near the railway with a head injury and unconscious. The National Police of Ukraine is investigating the death of an employee of the US Embassy as a premeditated murder, but does not rule out an accident.
Journalists from “Censor.NET”, referring to a source from the security forces, report that the deceased woman is Sanver Nikaelo. According to them, when they found her, she was wearing headphones. A journalist’s source said the woman was likely caught by a moving train, the approach of which she did not hear.
The source also pointed out that the embassy employee had a deep wound (about 4 cm) on the back of her head.
