The fight of the fifth day of the League of Nations, Division D between the teams of San Marino and Gibraltar, which ended in a goalless draw, was discussed by the Ukrainian referee team led by Yekaterina Monzul.
On the lines she was assisted by Alexandra Ardasheva and Marina Streletskaya, and Anastasia Romanyuk served as fourth official.
This match became historic not only for Ukraine, but also for world football, as for the first time an arbitration brigade, made up only of women, worked in a duel of men’s teams.
At the same time, Ekaterina Monzul is only the second woman in history to judge a match under the auspices of UEFA of this level as head referee. The first was French Stephanie Frappard, but her team included men.
Notably, in her first Nations League match, Monzul was marked by the dismissal of the captain of the San Marino team, whose actions during the fight against an opponent led to a direct red card.
