After successfully completing the tests, the small armored artillery ship “Kostopol” was included in the ship-to-ship structure of the Ukrainian Navy. The ship was built at the Kuznitsa na Rybalskoye shipyard.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The ship is equipped with modern navigation and radar equipment and weapons to defeat enemy targets, the ministry said.

“Kostopol” is hardly noticeable to enemy radars and active infrared. In addition, the ship is equipped with a protection system against enemy weapons and a system for automatically setting up smoke and heat screens.

The ship was named in honor of the town of Kostopol, Rivne region, where the sailor Aleksey Kondratyuk was born and lived, who died heroically while on a combat mission near Mariupol on March 17, 2017.

We will recall that in order to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capacity, US Mark VI type ships will be sent to the Sea of Azov, Ukraine will be the first in the world to receive these ships from the United States of America.

In addition to the Mark VI ships, the United States will sell weapons, infrared radars and other military equipment to Ukraine.
