Official Kiev intends to punish militants for their crimes in Donbass
The transfer of militants from Minsk to Russia does not fundamentally change the situation by bringing them to justice, the Attorney General’s Office said.
The Kiev officer intends to prosecute Wagner’s PMC militants transferred to Moscow by Belarusian authorities at the national level. This was announced by Deputy Attorney General Gunduz Mammadov in an interview with Radio Liberty, published on Monday, September 7.
“We have assembled a sufficient evidence base to commit crimes during the armed conflict in Donbass. Everyone has suspicions, so we will bring them to justice at the national level,” Mammadov said.
At the same time, he stressed that the transfer of suspects to Russia does not fundamentally change the situation, since the General Prosecutor’s Office uses all possible tools, particularly international ones, to punish those responsible.
As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the arrest of 33 “Wagnerites” in Belarus a joint action by the special services of Ukraine and the United States.
Soon the Russian leader’s statement was commented on by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and US State Department spokesman Morgan Ortagus.
