In the Servant of the People party, opinions were divided as to the possible exclusion of People’s Deputy Alexander Dubinsky from the faction due to his inclusion on the US sanctions list. Some of them demand a tough reaction, while others justify the people’s deputy.

In particular, as pointed out by the SN people’s deputy and vice chairman of the Digital Transformation Committee, Yegor Chernev, Dubinsky should be excluded from the faction, because the United States is Ukraine’s strategic partner, reports Novoye Vremya.

“On Monday (January 25 – Ed.) Dubinsky will be heard in the faction. He tried to initiate the convocation of the faction and explain something, but it seems to me that there is nothing to explain. There is a decision of the United States, which is not based on hearsay, not research. And if such a decision was made, then there must be a clear reaction from us, “he said.

According to Chernev, law enforcement officials must find out whether Dubinsky’s actions were causing harm to national interests.

For her part, People’s Deputy Lyudmila Marchenko of the Rules of Procedure Committee stated that the faction has no reason to exclude Dubinsky. In his opinion, even if the people’s deputy did what he is accused of in the United States, it was “his personal questions.”

“The position of a person, even that of president of the faction, is not enough to exclude a deputy [по закону]… Furthermore, Mr Dubinsky is a majority deputy. There would be a list … You can resign with your own hand. As far as I know, he’s not going to do this and we probably won’t expect it, “he said.

Marchenko added that many colleagues support Dubinsky, which is why, in his opinion, the People’s Deputy will not be expelled from the SN.

“Mr. Dubinsky’s position will not affect relations between Ukraine and the United States at all, they will not deteriorate due to such a superficial and emotional wave that has already passed,” the popular deputy underlined.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, on January 11, the United States imposed sanctions against Ukrainian citizens, including the People’s Deputy Alexander Dubinsky, the former military prosecutor Konstantin Kulik and the former People’s Deputy Alexander Onishchenko, as well as various information resources.

The restrictive measures are related to the probable interference of these people in the US elections.
