The town deputy Leros refused to testify at the State Investigation Office

The People’s Deputy expelled from the Servant of the People faction was summoned for questioning in case of tax evasion.

The people’s deputy, Geo Leros, refused to testify before the State Investigation Office, where he was summoned for questioning as a witness in a tax evasion case. The RRB press service has reported this to Ukrainian News.

“He used the right provided by Article 63 of the Constitution of Ukraine and refused to testify and answer questions,” the department said.

In turn, Miller’s law firm reported that Leros was questioned as a witness in a criminal case for tax evasion and high fees.

According to the people’s deputy Masi Nayem’s lawyer, a tax audit was not carried out, which would establish that Leros had unpaid tax obligations. Likewise, there were no notifications-decisions of the tax service on the need to pay the debt.

The lawyer added that according to the electronic statement, in 2019 Leros earned about 603 thousand hryvnia. Whereas criminal liability for tax evasion, as of 2019, started with 2.8 million hryvnia in unpaid taxes.

Furthermore, according to Nayem, the administration of the Verkhovna Rada Administration, which counted on Leros’ salary and in this case acted as fiscal agent, had to pay personal income tax when paying salaries.

At the same time, the Strana publication reports that after being elected people’s deputy, Leros actually filed an electronic declaration, which revealed that his income amounted to more than 603 thousand hryvnyas. Of these, 159 thousand hryvnia – deputy salary, 320 thousand hryvnia – income from business activities.

“At the same time, as an individual entrepreneur, Leros registered a couple of weeks after winning the elections, and after 9 days he suspended his business activity, as there is an entry in the open registry,” says the publication.

These 320,000 hryvnias, earned in a week, constitute almost all of Leros’ official income during his entire life before the deputy. According to the tax authorities, she received official income only in 2008-2009. It was only the insurance payment of 600 hryvnia and 45 thousand hryvnia.

At the same time, according to the published statement, there are more than 316 thousand hryvnias in Leros’ bank accounts, he declared 608 thousand dollars, 94 thousand euros, 910 thousand hryvnias, 4 thousand pounds sterling in cash. In addition, the People’s Deputy owns 49 units of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin (today the cost is about 12 thousand dollars per unit) and 356 units of Etherium (the cost today is 450 dollars per unit).

In addition, Leros owns an apartment in Kiev with an area of ​​336 square meters. m, as well as shares in apartments of 42.8 m2. m (50%) and 40.5 square meters. m. (30%). He also owns the Audi R8 sports car.

Let us remember, a week ago the parliamentary faction Servant of the People expelled Leros from its ranks. Given this, the popular deputy said that he will continue to fight the authorities.
