The probability of introducing strict quarantine restrictions in Ukraine as part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic is estimated at 90 percent, the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, David Arakhamia, said on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24.

“The probability of a complete blockade is 90 percent. There is a chance that we will be lucky, but so far everything seems that the probability is very high,” Interfax-Ukraine told Arakhamia on November 29.

He noted that the government is preparing an “intellectual blockade”, that is, not as harsh as it was in Ukraine in the spring.

“Adjusted to the realities of each region, in particular for public transport and the like,” said Arahamia.

The politician also allowed the closure of public transport, particularly the subway, on the eve of the New Year holidays, admitting that it would spoil the celebration, but such a move would not hit the economy as hard. He suggested that the blockade could be introduced on December 27.
