Expert judge Miroslav Stupar was extremely unhappy with Yuri Ivanov’s level of refereeing in the matchday 5 of the UPL between Dnipro-1 and Vorskla. The decisions made by the referee attest to his low qualifications, the expert is convinced.
– The situation in the 54th minute may be indicative, when Lucas Taylor won the ball in the fight, but pulled the back of the thigh. He had the ball, but the Brazilian reported injury. Canet ignored this and grabbed the ball, Ignatenko entered the fight and broke the rules. What about the fair play principle? Ignatenko was rightly given a yellow card because he fouled in anger, but why didn’t Ivanov pay attention to Lucas Taylor? You saw the player raise their hand, blow the whistle, and then play the jump. It is your responsibility to protect the health of the players. This shows the lack of professionalism and misunderstanding of football, – noted the former FIFA referee.
– The referee showed the players thirteen yellow cards, two of them red. Not everything was clear with the disciplinary sanctions, – says Miroslav Ivanovich. – For example, the second yellow for Tsurikov is a pity. In the 74th minute he received the first warning for rough play, and a minute later, in the fight against Perduta, he fouled on the edge of the center line of the field. There was no intention, there was no rudeness – you must understand the nature of the fight, – the expert is outraged.
– And now regarding the elimination of Sklyar. He received his yellow card in the first half fairly, but why was he suspended in the 81st minute? The “Dnipro-1” player controlled the ball, Sklyar made a bed from behind at a tackle and threw the ball under his feet, hitting the opponent’s leg. Penalty, but no yellow card. Ivanov seemed to feel that Tsurikov had kicked unfairly and was looking for an excuse to equalize the chances. But this is not professional. It is necessary to judge what it is, and not look for reasons to align the compositions.
In the 88th minute, there was a confrontation, – says the expert, – The referee sanctioned Kane and Nazarenko with yellow cards, no questions asked. But already in injury time, Kane deliberately fouled in front of his own penalty, thwarted the attack, and only one penalty, without a card for the Vorskla player. But at 90 + 4 minutes, when Dubinchak on the left edge of the midfield threw the ball and Kane fouled him, Ivanov punished the player with a second “yellow card”. I don’t understand why a foul missed two minutes earlier, why so much inconsistency, an amateur approach, – said Miroslav Ivanovich.
Note that the match between Dnipro-1 and Vorskloy finished with a score of 2: 2.
