The searches concerned the protection of cultural heritage, in particular the issuance of a permit in 2019.

NABU is searching the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, according to the ministry’s website on Thursday, December 17.

“On December 17, 2020, detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine came to search the facilities of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, the Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums. Please note that the criminal case, under the which investigative actions are carried out, refers to the issuance of a permit document in 2019 – then the ICIP had not yet been created, “the message says.

The ministry is willing to contribute to the investigation of this case as much as possible, to cooperate with the investigation, to help clarify all the circumstances.

As a reminder, in November we searched the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity. According to the prosecutor’s office, the Museum transferred UAH 111.6 million to the contractor for the construction, which was due to be completed in August 2019, but nothing was done and more than 100 million disappeared. In this sense, the museum management and the company are suspected of abuse.
