The North Macedonia team could not get out of League C of the League of Nations, having improved in class. In the final match of the tournament, Igor Angelovski’s pupils lost to Armenia.
The North Macedonians almost got the ball. It is important to understand that a draw was enough for the guests to hold the front row, so the team was in no rush to advance. Little by little, everything was drawing until the final whistle with zeros on the scoreboard, until the “red lions” missed the left flank of the defense. Ambartsumyan took advantage of this and, on entering the penalty area, rather at random, decided to hit the mark; after a series of bounces, the projectile flew under the far post. In an attempt to save the match and a ticket to the league, the guests almost welded even more, but Armenia in the final minutes did not make a clean start from one on one.
This victory gave the owners the opportunity to upgrade their class. And North Macedonia failed to pass League D and League C in two Nations League draws.
