In Ukraine, from April, the retirement age of women will be raised from 59.5 to 60 years. At the same time, starting in 2022, the length of service requirements will be increased to 29 years. Anyone who does not meet this requirement will work until age 63 or 65.
This is established in the law “On compulsory pension insurance”. Thus, the increase in the retirement age in April will affect all women who, after April, will turn 60. At the same time, the seniority requirements will lead to an increase in the retirement age only for those who have not met it.
So, starting in 2022:
-
at 60, those with 29 or more years of experience will retire;
-
at 63, those with 19 to 29 years of experience will retire;
-
At the age of 65, those with 15 to 19 years of experience will retire.
Note that in Ukraine the retirement age is one of the lowest in Europe. In many neighboring countries, the retirement age has already been raised to 63-65 years. Instead of reviewing the rules for everyone, flexible rules have been in place since 2017 – those who haven’t met the seniority requirements will go for a well-earned break later. And the rest can, as before, receive a pension from the age of 60.
As OBOZREVATEL already wrote, the increase in pensions in March should be around 11%. For example, with a pension of 3.5 thousand UAH, the amount of the increase can be about 385 UAH. If the decision is postponed from March, for example, to December, the Ukrainians will lose 3.4 thousand UAH.
Earlier OBOZREVATEL wrote in detail about what the pension reform of the Cabinet of Ministers will look like and why the situation with the payment of pensions in Ukraine will get worse every year.
