Taras Kachka: The only reason for the decline in exports to the EU is a blockade
Ukraine’s exports to the EU in the first three quarters fell due to a lockdown. Imports are also falling, but at a slower pace.
Ukrainian exports to the EU fell significantly in January-September. The reason for this is blocking. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Ukraine’s trade representative, Taras Kachka, in an interview with European Pravda.
“The only reason for the decline in exports to the EU was the blockade. Due to its economic consequences, our exports to the EU fell by 19% in the first three quarters,” Kachka said, adding that there are no other reasons for the drop in exports.
The deputy minister also pointed out that European imports to our country are falling, but at a slower pace.
Meanwhile, we write that Ukraine displaced China among the main EU honey suppliers. This year, the export of honey from Ukraine to the EU increased by 16%, while the export of Chinese honey decreased by 19%.
It was previously reported that the decline in agriculture accelerated in Ukraine. The companies reduced their production by almost a fifth, the main reduction was in crop production.
