The OP spoke about the reasons for Sergei Trofimov’s resignation.

The President’s Office reported that Trofimov had not worked well in his line of business and was also “soft.”

Sergei Trofimov was removed from his post as OPU’s first deputy chief for “certain shortcomings in regional moderation.” This was announced on Wednesday, November 4, by the anti-crisis adviser to the head of the President’s Office, Mikhail Podolyak, in a comment on the Ukrainian truth.

He confirmed to reporters that Sergei Trofimov had indeed been removed from his post as first deputy head of the presidential office.

“The reasons are obvious. And there are no hidden intrigues here. We have accumulated certain deficiencies in regional restraint, some of which negatively affected the communications of the Office and the local authorities,” Podolyak said.

At the same time, he admitted that it is not only Trofimov who is to blame that “regional elites sometimes interpret the key principles of the separation of powers too freely and allow themselves an excessive negativization of certain state initiatives.”

According to Podolyak, “excessive public aggression by individual representatives of the authorities is a consequence of packages of so-called” decentralization laws “that have not been fully drafted.”

He also added that Trofimov “is kind of soft to moderate regional stories.”

Podolyak noted that, however, Trofimov remains on the team as an advisor to the president. And the circle of his powers and responsibilities “is finally being determined right now.”

Today it was reported that Zelensky fired the first deputy Yermak. It was also reported that Sergei Trofimov was appointed independent adviser to Zelensky.

We will recall, in September 2019, that Zelensky reprimanded Trofimov and Tymoshenko for improperly performing their official duties after a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Later, when journalists asked Kirill Tymoshenko, for which the president reprimanded him, the official avoided giving a direct answer, saying: “Whoever works the hardest gets the most reprimands.”

Zelensky then withdrew the reprimand from two senior OP officials ahead of schedule.
