In Australia, large-scale flooding caused by persistent downpours has evacuated thousands of people.

Landslides also occurred in several regions. In particular, Newcastle airport stopped serving flights due to runway flooding.
In the rivers of New South Wales and Queensland, the water level has risen considerably, which continues to rise. In the city of Warragamba, the water overflowed over a 142 m high dam.
In some regions, the water currents were so strong that houses were razed.
Authorities said there had been no such catastrophic flooding in the country for nearly 100 years. At the same time, meteorologists predict that the rains will continue in the coming days.
The country’s head of government, Scott Morrison, assured that the affected regions will receive funds for recovery.
