These measures caused discontent among the population, especially among small businesses. Several dozen people came out on Monday to protest the tightening of security measures.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said Madrid needs a special plan, and authorities will be prepared to consider other scenarios if necessary.
The Spanish Ministry of Health believes that the country is on the brink of a second wave of coronavirus and the authorities are doing everything possible to prevent it.
