Tight quarantine restrictions are being introduced in Georgia from November 28 to January 31 to contain the spread of the coronavirus. However, the government promises to relax them for the New Year holidays.
It is reported by “Georgia Online”.
The curfew, now imposed in the seven largest cities, will reportedly be extended across the country. It is forbidden to go out from 21:00 to 05:00. The exception will be New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve nights on December 31 and January 6.
All intercity passenger traffic will also cease to function. The ban doesn’t just apply to taxis. Restaurants will only be able to sell takeout and home delivery, while gyms, swimming pools, art studios, etc. will be closed.
In addition, kindergartens and nurseries will be closed and schools will switch to distance education. All non-food markets and almost all non-food stores will be shut down, except for zoo pharmacies and pet supplies, household chemicals, and newspapers.
At the same time, from December 24 to January 2, the restrictions are promised to be relaxed. During this period, shopping and entertainment centers and markets will be opened, the work of municipal transport and interurban transport will be restored. After that, the transport will launch again only from January 16.
Recall that in early November, the Georgian government decided to strengthen the quarantine. In particular, they introduced a mandatory mask regime in public places and on the street.
