Numerous Indian film studios – Bollywood, Tollywood, Collywood, Mollywood, Sandalwood, Hollywood and others – differ from each other not only in location but also in language (Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and others, including English). They make over a thousand movies a year, many of which don’t need to be rented abroad to pay and make a profit. In fact, in India itself, which, according to forecasts, will surpass China by several decades in terms of population, 1.3 billion people live, possible spectators.

However, there are also movies that broke box office records both in India and abroad. The previous generation of Ukrainian viewers probably remembers the Indian melodrama “Bobby”, which became one of the highest grossing films in the film distribution in its history. The lead role of the 18-year-old Raja from a wealthy family, with whom poor 16-year-old fisher Bobby is in love, was played by 20-year-old Rishi Kapoor. It was in the early ’70s, and today Deadline announced the actor’s death after a long fight with cancer at the age of 67.

The producer and director of the movie Bobby was Raj Kapoor, the Indian film legend and Rishi’s father. But this does not mean that he, like his two brothers, who also became actors, entered the cinema, as they say, “by attraction”. This shows, in particular, the number of films shot with the participation of Rishi in the 70s-80s as an actor, and later also as a director and producer. But first of all, the actor and the public’s favorite.

Even according to the most superficial calculations, there were around 100. In addition, over time, the actor began to give up some roles, saying that the proposed scenarios could not excite him, but that he was tired of singing and dancing, and only now the real Rishi Kapoor appeared. Well, their fans now have to choose for themselves which roles they will remember their favorites.
