The price of gas for the population of Ukraine in October will fluctuate from 4700 to 5000 hryvnia per thousand cubic meters. After the heating season is over, gas will be cheaper again.
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said this in an interview with Ukraine 24 TV channel.
“In October, the price will fluctuate in the region of 4700 to 5000 hryvnia (per thousand cubic meters – ed.). We know for sure that after the winter growth there will be spring and autumn in summer,” he said.
The prime minister noted that Ukraine now has the lowest gas price in the last five years.
“The price in August was 3700 UAH, in September began a seasonal increase in gas prices, about 4200 UAH per thousand cubic meters, that is, 4.2 hryvnia per cubic meter. This is the lowest price in the last five years, and this is the lowest price level in principle during independence “, – emphasized Shmygal.
He recalled that now Ukrainians can choose their own gas supplier.
“There is competition, and this contributes to lower prices. Of course, there is a seasonal behavior of gas prices. In winter, gas is naturally more expensive, we will pay more for it,” added the prime minister.
We will recall, in July, that Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that Ukraine is 50% ready for the next heating season.
The head of Ukraine’s Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev, said Ukraine has accumulated record volumes of gas in underground storage – more than 24 billion cubic meters.
We add that Naftogaz Ukrainy announced the threat of interruption of the heating season due to more than a hundred thermal companies.
