If the global cataclysms do not change Daimler’s plans, we will see a new generation of the Mercedes-Benz flagship until the end of 2020. And every week there are fewer secrets.
It is already known that the sedan on the back of the W223 will receive a completely different interior with a giant “portrait” screen and touch screens even on the door. Dozens of spy photos have allowed our artists to paint the alleged appearance of the machine. And recently, the S-class was found without camouflage, albeit in a poor-quality photograph.
In test prototypes, camouflage is also becoming less and less. Perhaps, while these are the best shots of the new S-class on the move. They clearly show the blackened radiator grille with a large radar plug and a camera eye; running lights located on the upper edges of the headlights; bumper contours with developed air intakes. The spies may have caught a W223 sedan on the way in an AMG package.
The fact that the pre-production instance belongs to the sports line is also indicated by the low body fit and characteristic two-tone wheel design. And pay attention: it seems that, following the example of Range Rover Velar and Evoque, Mercedes decided to equip the S-class with retractable door handles. And during tests near the factory in Sindelfingen, they captured only the right-hand version of the Mercedes-Benz flagship.
On the back of the prototype, flashlights are visible entering the boot lid, as well as a pair of tailpipes. But this is at first glance. If you look closely, it becomes clear that there are actually four pipes. Probably, under the hood of this S-class is not the weakest engine. These are just details on the technical fill of the Mercedes-Benz sedan that has not yet been revealed.
Actually, this is the main secret today: what kind of technology did the Germans prepare for the W223? But there’s no question: The iconic executive sedan will be loaded with advanced electronics in its entirety, the job forces it.
